A family craft since 2010

Good honey starts with respect.

Respect for the bees. Respect for the work. Respect for every neighbor who brings a jar home or calls when a swarm appears. That is the tradition Mike carries forward.

Where it began

Mike learned by working beside his grandfather.

What started with Thomas Allen in 2010 became a lifelong connection to bees, good ingredients, and Central Texas market life.

By 2011, the family's first honey brand—Z's Bees—was underway. The name has changed, but the guiding idea has not: keep the product natural, make it well, and treat every customer like a neighbor.

The journey

Built one season at a time.

Mike's Bees is not a borrowed farm story. It grew out of family experience, local markets, hands-on work, and years spent serving Central Texas neighbors.

2010

Learning beside his grandfather

Mike began learning beekeeping with his grandfather, Thomas Allen, building an early respect for bees, practical craft, and local customers.

2011

Z's Bees takes shape

The family's first honey brand brought the harvest directly to neighbors and local markets.

Later

A life connected to local markets

Mike later owned and operated the Killeen Farmers Market, working with growers, makers, and the people who support small Texas businesses.

Today

Mike's Bees carries it forward

The current shop brings raw Texas wildflower honey, oatmeal soap, online ordering, and neighborly bee-removal help under one local brand.

What guides the work

Small-batch products. Straight answers. Local help.

Keep it natural

Let the honey's seasonal color, flavor, and texture speak for the harvest.

Make it useful

Give customers clear product details, storage help, recipes, and honest ordering information.

Stay neighborly

Make it easy to ask a question, request bee-removal help, or speak directly with Mike.
